Palourdes, mussels and shellfish
Epic supplies frozen palourdes, Chilean mussels and Greenshell mussels to horeca businesses and wholesalers in Belgium and the rest of Europe. The shellfish range includes cooked palourdes (carpet shell clams) in three sizes, Chilean mussels in half shell bulk packs and whole shell cartons, and Greenshell mussels on the half shell. Application and ordering
Palourdes, also known as carpet shell clams, are a classic ingredient in soups, pastas and tapas dishes. At Epic they are supplied cooked and on the whole shell, so defrosting is all that is needed before further preparation. The brown variant (30-50 pcs/kg) and the two white sizes (40-60 and 60-80 pcs/kg) allow you to match the portion size to the dish: a lower count means larger, meatier shellfish suited to a main course, while a higher count means more, smaller pieces for side dishes or buffets. Chilean mussels on the whole shell come in small cartons of 5 units, suitable for businesses that work with frequent stock rotation; the bulk half shell version (9 kg) is intended for high-volume catering kitchens and caterers. Greenshell mussels are supplied on the half shell, a presentation that lends itself to platters, buffets and gratinated preparations. All products on this page are frozen and cooked on delivery.
