Surimi
Epic supplies frozen surimi to wholesalers and horeca businesses in Belgium and the rest of Europe. The range includes surimi chunks, shrimp, lobster tails, maki sticks and sticks, in an orange or red colour variant, with a surimi content of 33 to 53 percent. Application and ordering
Surimi is a preparation based on fish material that is finely minced, washed and reshaped into, among other things, shrimp, lobster tail or stick forms. In horeca and catering, surimi shrimp and lobster tails are mostly used cold, in salads, cocktails and sushi or buffet dishes. Surimi chunks lend themselves to salads, pasta dishes and hot preparations such as soups and gratins. The thin surimi sticks (approx. 7 cm) are often cut into pieces for salads and snacks, while the longer maki sticks (18 cm) are specifically designed for use in sushi rolls. The surimi content (33 to 53 percent) indicates what share of the product consists of surimi paste; a higher percentage generally means a firmer texture and a more pronounced flavour.
