Application and ordering
Crispy torpedo shrimp are supplied pre-breaded and are meant to go straight from the freezer into the fryer or oven, ready to serve as a snack, a starter or part of a fingerfood platter. A lower size number (13/15 pieces per lb) gives larger shrimp that suit an individual starter or a prominent place on the plate; a higher number (26/30 to 31/40) gives more, smaller pieces per kilo, suited to appetiser assortments, buffets or a shared snack platter. Ebi Fry torpedo shrimp are the Japanese-inspired variant of the same torpedo shrimp: pre-breaded, graded per piece (2L or 3L) and packed 10 pieces per tray, which makes portioning for bento or sushi dishes and Asian-inspired menus straightforward. Both lines are frozen products, intended for foodservice distributors, wholesalers and horeca businesses that work with fixed portions.
